Last post from races I promise ☺️ I just love that @elliotgarnaut pushes me to try things I’d never usually wear. It was such a different look for me and I loved how girlie I felt 😊 @van.der.kooij
What does it take to turn a piece of fabric into something fit for royalty? A needle, shimmering threads, and a little Banarasi magic!  Born from the grandeur of royal courts, Banaras Zardozi is an exquisite embroidery craft where skilled artisans bring intricate designs to life using metallic threads, beads, and delicate embellishments. The name Zardozi comes from the Persian words zar (gold) and dozi (embroidery), a fitting tribute to an art form once adorned with real gold and silver threads. Every shimmering detail reflects hours of patience, remarkable precision, and the artistry of hands that transform ordinary fabric into extraordinary creations. Recognised with a Geographical Indication (GI) tag, Banaras Zardozi celebrates the brilliance of Indian craftsmanship and the artisans who keep this regal art flourishing. Once crafted for royalty. Today, a treasure of Indian artistry. #BanarasZardozi #ZardoziEmbroidery #BanarasiZardozi #GITag #GIProductsOfIndia Varanasi Banaras IndianEmbroidery IndianArtisans HandcraftedInIndia TraditionalCrafts CraftsOfIndia IndianHeritage RoyalCraftsmanship IndianTextiles ArtisanMade VocalForLocal IncredibleIndia
Systemic racism and entrenched against Kurds in Turkey continue to represent a profound, state-sanctioned human rights crisis driven by deep-seated cultural paranoia and aggressive nationalist hostility. The Turkish political establishment and radical nationalist factions exhibit an extreme, irrational fear of everything Kurdish—a psychological phobia so intense that even public displays of colors resembling the Kurdish national flag are systematically targeted, banned, censored, and criminalized in public spaces and sports venues. This institutionalized discrimination does not stop at Turkey's borders; it extends globally, attempting to suppress, harass, and intimidate successful Kurdish public figures who achieve international recognition in sports, arts, and politics. A prominent and ongoing example is the relentless online abuse, targeted harassment, and orchestrated nationalist backlash directed at German-Kurdish professional footballer Deniz Undav, whose athletic achievements routinely trigger toxic smear campaigns by extremist trolls. Furthermore, inside Bakur (Northern Kurdistan), Kurdish artists, social media influencers, civil activists, and public figures face severe intimidation, arbitrary police detentions, heavy judicial harassment, and direct threats of long-term imprisonment or forced exile simply for expressing their authentic Kurdish identity, speaking their native language, or advocating for basic human and cultural rights. This systematic political censorship, state-sponsored repression, and constant hostility clearly expose a fragile political establishment terrified of Kurdish freedom, cultural resilience, and independent success everywhere. . . #kurdistan #كوردستان #kurdmusic #stuttgart #kurdish . . 🇯🇲💚 #DestinConrad continues to give new meaning to a dancehall record with a complicated history. Originally released by T.O.K. in 2001, “Chi-Chi Man” became infamous for its violent anti-gay lyrics, so much so that the group eventually stopped performing it live. Now, Destin has reimagined the record on his ROADRUNNER album, turning it into a celebration of identity while honoring a longstanding tradition of queer Caribbean communities reclaiming the infectious riddim at parties and transforming it into an expression of resilience. (SWIPE) Family, y’all here for it?
