🚨 I Asked Former NC Representative John Rhodes Some Direct Questions. Here's What He Said. Today, after protesting near a voting location in North Mecklenburg, I had a face-to-face conversation with John Rhodes, a Republican candidate running for North Carolina House District 98. Rhodes previously served in the NC House from 2003 to 2007 and is challenging Democratic incumbent Beth Helfrich. The district includes Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville. During our conversation, I asked him about several issues that deserve public scrutiny: 🗣️ The threat of jail: Rhodes initially approached me and said he could have me put in jail. That opening exchange wasn't captured on camera, but I asked him about it in the footage that follows. ⚖️ “If you can find the man, you can find the crime”: Rhodes used this phrase during our discussion. What does that say about evidence, criminal accusations, and the principle of innocent until proven guilty? 🗳️ The 2020 election: We discussed his belief that Trump won the 2020 election, despite the certified results showing Joe Biden won. ⚖️ Trump's legal record: We discussed Trump's indictment in the New York hush-money case and his subsequent conviction on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. We also discussed E. Jean Carroll, whom a civil jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming. These were separate legal cases. Rhodes says he wants to fight corruption. I asked questions about his statements, his views, and what accountability should look like. I'm sharing this conversation so local residents can hear his responses directly and make up their own minds. If someone wants to represent your community, shouldn't voters be able to ask them difficult questions? What stands out to you about this exchange? Most people think it is just another social media filter, but Polish software engineer Konrad Reczko demonstrated a breakthrough in real time computer graphics. Working at Software Mansion in Kraków, he developed a technique that combines artificial intelligence with realistic lighting directly in a web browser. 💻 Using TypeGPU and WebGPU, Reczko ran a monocular depth estimation model at 448 × 448 resolution in approximately 8 milliseconds on an Apple M4 Pro. By keeping AI inference, lighting calculations and rendering on the GPU, his approach avoids unnecessary data transfers and synchronization. 🚀 The demonstration allows virtual light sources to illuminate a person in a live camera feed, creating realistic shadows and depth dependent effects. This technology could benefit augmented reality, video production, streaming and browser based graphics, showcasing Polish engineering talent on the international technology scene.
