I’ve been meaning to share this little project that I did for myself over the summer. If you are from the NY/NJ area you know exactly who this is! Fudgie the Whale from Carvel! An adorable character ice cream cake. When I was little I was totally mesmerized anytime the commercials came on tv. And it wasn’t the ice cream or chocolate, it was Tom Carvel’s voice! Oh my gosh! I can’t even tell you how comforting it was. The ultimate grandpa voice! A cartoon! And guess what!? He invented soft serve ice cream. Apparently one day when his ice cream truck got a flat tire he found himself with melting inventory and rather than letting it go to waste he began selling it as is to road side customers who loved it! He then developed a low temperature machine and opened his first store in 1936. Fudgie wouldn’t be introduced until the late 70s. And is still around today! Early versions of Fudgie had chopped nuts on the sides and today it is most often chocolate crunchies. I made this paper mache, clay, foam, and plaster version to hang in our kitchen! It was a whole lot of trial and error coming up with my crunchies but I settled on tiny bits of styrofoam. I love seeing him hanging on our striped walls. If you do a quick search online no two fudgie faces are the same. It’s actually pretty hilarious. Swipe through for some close ups, a vintage commercial and to see the man behind it all. 🤎🐳🍦

Send gerne videoen her videre 🤗

Og så må du bare have
GOD FORNØJELSE 😍

The Go-Go Community came out last night to show Daniyah and her parents, siblings, and entire family LOVE last night at @sycamoreoak ❤️🙏🏿

Watching the music help this family deal with the pain, grief, and trauma that come with this senseless violence really hit me. Music has always been more than entertainment in our community. It brings us together, helps us heal, and reminds us that we are not alone, even in our darkest moments.

From 2020–2024, we lost 75 of our children, ages 17 and under. Think about that! These are our babies, our future, and our community’s greatest treasure. Yet, it has become so common that we risk losing our sense of outrage and urgency. THIS CANNOT BECOME NORMAL!

I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to support Daniyah’s family and show them that the Go-Go Community stands with them. Your presence, love, and support matter more than words can express.

Now, we must continue to demand justice. The individuals responsible for taking this young soul’s life must be identified, apprehended, and held accountable as quickly as possible because this is not o.k.. Daniyah and her family deserve justice, and they deserve to know that their community will not forget her or allow her life to become just another statistic.

WE HAVE TO DO BETTER! We cannot keep mourning our children, posting RIP messages, and then moving on until the next tragedy. We must turn our grief into action, our love into support, and our outrage into a commitment to protect our children.

Daniyah matters. Her family matters. Every child matters. 💔🙏🏿 Watching her father Domo have the strength to get on the drums and celebrate his daughter just give us all strength to deal with trials and tribulations that we all deal with one way or another 🙏🏾
