Hey Mama!
So let me tell y’all how God got me together right quick through my 8 year old. Yesterday, I was sitting in bed working on content and Ollie came into the room to let me know he didn't hear me tell him to take a shower 🤣..Y’all, it’s amazing how hard of hearing children become when it's time to shower or get ready for bed, but that's not the point of this post.
After I said my peace, I said “Ollie, give me a motivational quote for my blog”. He looked at me and was like, what does motivational mean? I explained to inspire others to keep pushing forward. When I tell you, Ollie looked at me and it didn't even take him 15 seconds, he responds “Grow your mind.” When I tell you my husband and I looked at each other like well I be damn! We instantly thought he had heard it somewhere, but then I sat back and really thought about it. I am a firm believer that GOD will speak through people and definitely through your children; especially if you are hard-headed (have you met me). I have been struggling the last few weeks with personal and work and I'm not afraid to admit that in certain situations my thinking operates in fear instead of putting my trust in GOD (read that again).
Ollie’s “Grow your mind” hit home because, It was like God saying “You, still choosing fear as your way of thinking, it's time to grow your mind, Devon.” So, mama, if I can give you any advice, let's grow from the place of thinking we are at. It is so easy to slip into a negative space and stay there. Believe me, when I tell you I've been there and I had to fight my way out. If your struggling today, whether in personal, work or motherhood, I want you to take one step to GROW YOUR MIND!
