This post is about accountability and introspection.. no matter the political party, we will continue losing if we are not willing to hold our political leaders to account. I’m not talking about holding Mamdani who you hate to account. I’m talking about holding the leaders, you championed and fought for to account. The leaders you loved. Because the second you allow them to betray you with no repercussions, is the second you will lose your seat in that party and in that office.. We willingly let go of our power as voters, we voluntarily gave a hall pass to the politicians we support to cheat on us and betray our issues. We have become the path of least resistance, betraying us costs nothing socially or otherwise. As long as your betrayal comes wrapped up in diplomatic language… this is a reflection of a party. This is an reflection of politics. This is a reflection of what happens when constituents no longer hold politicians to account, but rather act as their personal PR team to provide them cover.

President Trump is already putting Democrats on notice with a bright red hat bearing just one word: “VETO.”

As Democrats look to take control of Congress, Trump is signaling he plans to use one of the strongest powers of his office to block legislation he opposes.

“They’ll send over things that are insane and I’ll veto them,” Trump tells Fox News, predicting repeated vetoes could eventually bring Democrats to the negotiating table.

But Trump says those conversations may already be starting, revealing that several Democrats have reached out to him since the election.

From Halloween to Día de los Muertos

I'm spending the weekend up at the cottage, where the autumn colours are fading, the leaves are falling, and things are getting decidedly quieter. But earlier last month, I had the opportunity to spend some time with a watch that couldn't be further removed from the muted colours of a Canadian autumn.

Enter the MIDO Multifort TV Big Date Alebrijes.

Inspired by the fantastical creatures of Mexican folk art, alebrijes are wonderfully imaginative creations, bursting with colour, intricate patterns, and more than a little personality.

With Halloween now behind us and Día de los Muertos upon us, it seemed like the perfect time to share this colourful creation.

Día de los Muertos is a celebration of life, memory, and the enduring connection between the living and those who have passed. And while alebrijes have their own distinct artistic origins, their colourful presence feels particularly appropriate at this time of year.

As for the watch? Well, sometimes horology should be a little playful. A little unexpected. And perhaps even a little wild.

¡Feliz Día de Muertos! 💀🌼
