Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin Thompson, Kemp Powers
2023

This was exactly what I needed.
I don’t think I have a single complaint about this movie.

The colors, the soundtrack, the animation, the writing, it was all incredible. I need to rewatch soon but just upon first watch and thinking back on how much I enjoyed those two hours, this is probably my favorite animated film since Coraline.

This is how you make a sequel. This was a thousand times better than the first Spider-Verse and easily my favorite Marvel movie.

The humor was adult and actually funny.
The story line was unpredictable.
I had so much fun watching this that I refused to go to the bathroom and suffered for a good 45 minutes.

There were parts where I wanted to dance, parts where I wanted to cry, and parts that just really fascinated me. There is so much effort and precision that goes into animation, so many details and you can really tell when you get to marvel at the work of art in the theatre.
