The countdown is on - 4.5 weeks to go @nycmarathon and lots of feelings are starting to surface so I thought I’d share some of them.

I never want to pretend not to feel the doubts and the worries, they’re a normal part of the process for me and I want to be honest about that.

Just gotta remind yourself that all those feelings are there because you care, and that’s a good thing 🫶🏼

and don’t forget to match every nervous thought with an excited one too ⭐

After what happened to me, you better believe my son will never be part of this problem.

If you’re watching this unfold thinking, “My child would never,” then tell me why half of all women experience S A in their lifetime?

It’s very telling that my fourth-grader already knows, “They wouldn’t have done this to a man.”

He’s right. We’ve created a hierarchy on whose bodies we value and whose bodies we violate.

It’s not enough to teach our kids to “be kind.” We must teach them to protect the vulnerable. To go against the group text. To prioritize awareness over entitlement, and never see a woman as unworthy.

The goal isn’t simply to raise a son who “would never.”

It’s to raise one who refuses to become the fifty-eighth member of the frat house.
