Julia Stiles has never danced seriously. Yet, 25 years after her role as the Juilliard-bound Sara Johnson in “Save the Last Dance,” Stiles has become an unexpected darling of the reality TV staple “Dancing With the Stars.” It’s rare for the show to attract a star of Stiles’s wattage. “I knew the show would be physically challenging, but it’s been a big emotional journey, too,” she said in an interview with The New York Times. “I can recite a monologue or do a play in front of an audience, and that doesn’t scare me. But to dance in front of people? I had to figure out how to tackle that.” Read our full interview with @missjuliastiles as she discusses the vulnerability dance requires, her Heath Ledger tribute performance and more at the link in our bio. Jewish activist Liz Benichou was reportedly shoved to the ground by a woman during a free speech event at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Benichou had questioned what would happen if the woman dressed the same way in Iran, where women’s freedoms are severely restricted. According to the account, the woman was arrested and allegedly screamed: “I SHOULD HAVE F****G KILLED YOU WHILE I HAD THE CHANCE!!” Social media reports describe the alleged attacker as a supporter of Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, although that connection remains unverified. A Jewish woman asks a question about women’s rights and allegedly faces violence and a death threat. Political disagreement never justifies violence or death threats. @uclafootball is 8-0! Such a privilege to get the opportunity to cover another game on the sideline for @bigtennetwork at the Rose Bowl. Pinching myself every day!
