A #Black couple in #NewYork has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit after a real estate agent allegedly texted them, “Ugh they are Black,” just moments before they were scheduled to tour an apartment.

Lisa Renee Olaso, 53, and her fiancé, Cyril Christopher, 51, had traveled from Delaware to Queens in June 2026 to view an apartment after Olaso accepted a new job. As they arrived, Olaso received the text from real estate broker Helen Tzelios, 61, which she believes was intended for the property owner.

According to the lawsuit, Tzelios apologized and claimed the message was a misunderstanding. She allegedly attempted to explain herself by saying there had been problems with previous Black tenants in the neighborhood. Although she offered to continue the showing, the couple declined, saying they felt humiliated and discriminated against.

The couple has now sued Tzelios, the property owners and real estate company Douglas Elliman, alleging violations of federal and New York City fair housing laws. Douglas Elliman said it learned about the incident after receiving the lawsuit and fired Tzelios within an hour, emphasizing that the company has zero tolerance for discrimination.

The couple, who have since relocated to Long Island, said they decided to speak publicly because they don’t want other families to experience the same treatment. The lawsuit remains unresolved.

У току је финални напад на темеље српског народа - Српску Православну Цркву. Најтужније је то што овај напад долази од “националисте” и човека који се представља као православац и верник. Планови запада за уништење наше Цркве никада нису застарели - само су променили методу деловања.
