Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has reportedly married journalist Nidhi Razdan, with the couple sharing photographs on social media on October 31, 2026, announcing the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Abdullah shared photographs with Razdan and captioned his post, “A new journey began yesterday,” indicating that the ceremony took place on October 30. The pictures showed the couple together in different settings, with one capturing them smiling and exchanging glances. The announcement quickly drew congratulatory messages from friends, colleagues and public figures, including journalist Suhasini Haidar. According to media reports, the couple also hosted a private reception at Jammu and Kashmir House in New Delhi, attended by a select gathering of guests. The event brought together people from their professional and personal circles. The reported marriage comes three months after the Supreme Court dissolved Abdullah’s marriage to his estranged wife, Payal Abdullah, on July 31, 2026. The former couple had married in 1994 and had been living separately since 2009. They have two sons. Razdan, a prominent journalist and former NDTV anchor, has covered Indian politics and international affairs throughout her career. Her earlier marriage to journalist and writer Neelesh Misra reportedly ended in divorce in 2007. The announcement has attracted widespread attention, bringing the personal lives of two well-known public figures into the spotlight. While Abdullah continues to serve as Jammu and Kashmir’s Chief Minister, Razdan is widely recognised for her work in Indian television journalism. The couple's social media posts have become the centre of public interest, with well-wishers congratulating them on their reported wedding.
