While previous generations may have had a series of relationships — from the serious to the casual — Gen-Z women only want to commit if a guy checks every box on their future-husband wish list. This is the age of dating apps, with so many potentials at our fingertips. Why bother with a hard launch? But this approach, Sadie Kargman argues, means that many Gen-Zers are missing out on a crucial step in their dating lives: learning how to *actually* be in a relationship. Her solution? We need to embrace the Entry-Level Boyfriend. “They are never going to become your husband,” Kargman writes. “But hopefully, they can teach you how to recognize him.” At the link in bio, @sadiekargman explores her generation’s reluctance to label their relationships — then makes the case for committing to someone regardless of what the outcome may be. I’ll be honest, I used to be so damn insecure about my arm. Post stage 1, I questioned if I made the right decision with going through bottom surgery. All the open wounds, the freshness of those wounds, I was truly disgusted not going to lie. I never wanted to touch it. First time I had to wash my arm in the shower, I almost passed out- luckily my mom was there with me for that. Having to wrap and conceal my arm, my leg, my penis, every. single. day. For months- to a year. I asked myself if all of this was truly worth it. I didn’t have an answer at that time, but I knew I needed to just stick through the process. (And there was also no going back😂 so that was my only option anyway). I never wanted to go out in public with my arm. I was very self conscious. To this day, I always know when someone looks/glances at it. But it’s different now compared to then- solely because I gained confidence with it. I needed time to adjust. To realize that this was my norm now. I hated having to wear a sun protectant sleeve in the first year because I knew that just drew more attention to me- people would ask what happened, etc. The way I worked on this insecurity- I would go to the gym without wearing a sleeve. It forced me to get comfortable with seeing it and being in a public setting as well. As I got more comfortable, I started going out at night without long sleeves or a bandage on. After a year, I stopped wearing my sun protectant sleeve and let the sun do its thing (as I have w every other scar on my body). I’m VERY pleased with how my scar has faded and how it looks now. I rubbed vitamin E oil with shea butter lotion on it every single day (still do), wore a silicone sleeve to bed for 2 years every single night (got this from my OT), alongside the sun exposure. I don’t think twice about my arm now. I also do NOT regret bottom surgery by any means. I just needed time to do its thing- that’s why I always say to stay patient. I can tattoo over it if I want- so many people ask this. I don’t plan to right now, nor do I feel the need to. I’ve grown to love my scar and for what it always reminds me of. Idrk why I share all this tbh. Just showing u im human too.
