When I went to watch the newest episode of Steel Ball Run the other day, I had to take a moment upon going to the JoJo show page on Netflix and seeing Jolyne there. It’s already been five years since I was cast in Stone Ocean and there are still times when it doesn’t feel real! Even when I have moments of feeling down about my career (this is a thing basically ALL actors go through btw!) I get to remind myself that I had the opportunity to play the character I wanted to play more than any other role in the universe, and just how special that is.

A little life update that took me over a year to share….
I lost my Papa in April 2025, and while I was still trying to make sense of a world without him, life brought another unexpected challenge. This time, it was my own health and the frightening possibility of cancer.
I won’t pretend I was strong every single day. I wasn’t. Some days were harder than others, and sometimes just getting through the day felt like enough.
It was a difficult chapter that quietly changed so much of my life. I stepped back from work, collaborations, events and social gatherings. Not because I had given up, but because I was trying to find my feet again while dealing with grief, fear and uncertainty.
I’ve always believed that not every moment needs to be shared online. Sometimes, I simply need to step away, feel what I need to feel and return when I’m ready. A smiling face doesn’t always tell the whole story.
Through it all, my family, Shoaib and a few close friends were my greatest strength. Their love, patience and presence meant more than I could ever put into words.
Today, I’m doing much better. Regular checkups are still part of my life, and surgery may be in my future, but my doctor is hopeful, and so am I. The best part is, no cancer!
I’m sharing it because so many of you have been part of my life for years, celebrating my little joys, travels and everyday moments. It only felt right to share a little of what was happening behind the scenes too.
If this experience has taught me anything, it’s that life can change when we least expect it. Be kinder to people, hold your loved ones a little closer and please, never take your health for granted.

As for me, I still want to romanticize my daily life and find happiness in all the little things I’ve always loved.
My diagnosis is a part of my life, not my identity.
I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I refuse to let the fear of tomorrow take away the joy of today.

Thank you for being here, always ❤️🤗

(Big huge thanks to my kindest Doctor Adel Chaouche ENT specialist at @medcareae )
