I’m not saying I’m getting back into dating any time soon, but I have been thinking about what that might look like if I ever do.

Someone recently gave me a few tips about dating again, and I haven’t stopped thinking about them. Especially the one about treating dates like interviews rather than auditions. Because why are we so worried about whether someone likes us that we forget to ask ourselves whether we even like THEM?

And the more I think about it, the more I realise how much my standards have changed.

I love my life. I love my independence. I love my peace. And I really, really love being myself.

I’m not interested in performing a version of myself that somebody else might find more attractive. I’m not interested in pretending to enjoy things I don’t. And I’m definitely not interested in a relationship that makes my life harder than it already needs to be.

At this point, being single doesn’t scare me. Losing myself again does.

Anyway, ladies, especially those of you who’ve started dating again after a long relationship, what are your absolute NON-NEGOTIABLES?

Because I feel like this list could get very interesting.
