Happy Thursday, I can’t believe tomorrow is already Friday✨

Have you heard this song? This video may be long but it’s so worth the song. The message really speaks to me. We can spend so much time waiting for the perfect moment, thinking we’ll do something when we’re ready, when we have more time, or when everything falls into place. But what if the perfect moment is the one we’re living right now? What are we all waiting for?✨

At 64, I’ve learned that life is always changing, there’s always something new to discover, and I don’t want to put off the things that bring me joy. I want to keep growing, keep exploring, keep getting dressed in a way that feels like me, and most importantly, keep having fun along the way! Don’t you? 💜

So come get ready with me! Today I’m embracing a little everyday glow with @saiebeauty , a simple, cozy cashmere sweater from @anthropologie with @freepeople jeans, and then a little @_jennybird bling. I love how the simplest things can make us feel good, express who we are, and add a little sparkle to an ordinary day.✨

We don’t need a special occasion to celebrate life! Sometimes it’s the little things that make any day feel special. Whatever season of life you’re in, don’t wait for someday to do the things that make you happy. Embrace today, be a little adventurous, and make it spectacular! ✨

The light in me sees the light in you, I hope you shine the whole day through 🙏✨🌞❤️

Last sunrise of October 🫶🏻

My account might look like rainbows and sunrises, but let’s keep it real… October has been a tough one.

I was supposed to be away every weekend in October. In reality, I’ve only managed one trip. I even had flights booked and airport parking paid for, but I just couldn’t make it.

I didn’t make my own birthday meal.

And that’s the reality sometimes. You can have all the plans in the world, but life and your mental health don’t always let you follow through.

Social media might show the beautiful sunrises, the rainbows and the smiles, but behind those pictures there’s a real person having real struggles.

And that’s okay. Not every month is going to be full of adventures, achievements and ticking things off the list.

So here’s to the last sunrise of October, a cold dip, a fresh perspective and remembering that even after the toughest months, the sun still rises.

Thank you, @macklemore ❤️‍🩹

Thank you for having me & for bringing such an extraordinary group of human beings together in Paris for the Free Palestine Tour.

The organizers, the volunteers, the students, friends, lovers and strangers. Every single person in that room that showed up.

As a Palestinian and as a journalist, I have spent years documenting people who commit the worst crimes imaginable and walk away untouched. Our colleagues in Gaza were killed in their press vests. The men who gave the orders still hold press conferences. You learn to carry that, and you learn to expect very little from anyone with power and a platform.

Then I met Ben, and within minutes of talking to you, you felt like a long lost family member I had somehow lost track of. You know where you stand and you stand there calmly, without asking to be thanked for it. Doing the right thing has never seemed to cost you your gentleness or your dignity. I keep thinking about how rare that is and how grateful I am that you exist.

My grandfather was from Jaffa. Every one of us is searching for somewhere to belong, and some of us have been searching for generations. This weekend I found a piece of it with all of you. Thousands of us, our voices shouted “On est là.”

High school students who had blocked their school gates that month were singing in the crowd. Tamer brought Lyd onto the stage. I was surrounded by people who have held onto their humanity while the world spends billions trying to take it from them.

I came home lighter, and changed.

Thank you, brother. Pour Gaza. Pour Palestine. Pour la musique! We are still here. Free Palestine, until it’s backwards! ✊🏾
