From the basketball court to protecting and serving! 🏀🚔 Former NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire is officially stepping into a new career in law enforcement. The 43-year-old, who previously played for the #NewYorkKnicks, recently graduated from the #MiamiDade Police Academy in Florida, earning the Harry “Coach” Everett Award for his contributions throughout the training program. Despite earning more than $165 million during his 14-year #NBA career, Stoudemire says his decision to join law enforcement is rooted in his desire to give back. “Well, it’s a real job. It’s a community-oriented job where our first line of business is to protect and serve the community,” he explained. The former All-Star also credited his uncle and former basketball coach, who both worked in law enforcement, for inspiring him. Since retiring from the NBA, Stoudemire has played professionally overseas, worked as a player development coach for the #BrooklynNets and launched his own wine business. Now, he’s trading his jersey for a badge as he begins his latest chapter. (SWIPE➡️)

Thinking of building a home in the Dominican Republic? 🇩🇴 Here’s how we did it! (PART 1) After sharing our family villa journey, so many of you have asked about the process of building in the DR. So I sat down with my mom to share our experience, the steps we followed, and what we’ve learned along the way. A little backstory: Our villa is located in Las Galeras, Samaná, a quieter, less developed part of the Dominican Republic. When we first started looking for a luxury villa to rent in that area, we couldn’t find anything that fit what our family was looking for. That’s what inspired us to build our own! 📩 For serious inquiries about building in the Dominican Republic, my mom can help connect you with professionals we’ve worked with. Email her at buildinginlasgaleras@gmail.com. Here’s a breakdown of our process: 1. FIND YOUR LAND 📍 Hire a trustworthy lawyer and land surveyor to verify the property and make sure everything checks out before moving forward. 2. SECURE YOUR LAND 📝 Sign a Promise to Purchase Agreement, agree on a closing date with the seller, and put down your deposit. 3. FINALIZE YOUR PURCHASE 🔑 Complete the legal due diligence, clear the necessary paperwork, and pay the remaining balance to finalize your purchase. 4. HIRE AN ARCHITECT 📐 Create your architectural plans and layout. This is where you start bringing your vision to life! We’re still finishing our family villa in Las Galeras, and this experience has taught us SO much. In Part 2, we’re getting into engineers, building permits, construction, and the process of designing and sourcing everything for our home. Save this post if building a home in the Dominican Republic is on your vision board, and drop your questions below! 🇩🇴 #BuildingInDominicanRepublic #DominicanRepublicRealEstate #BuildingInDR #LasGaleras #DominicanRepublic
