$A Tennessee mother is facing multiple criminal charges after allegedly driving her vehicle off a cliff with her two children inside, leaving the car overturned near railroad tracks. Chase Ryan Klinedinst, 30, was arrested Monday, October 12, on an outstanding warrant connected to the September 7 crash in Chattanooga. She faces charges of driving under the influence, vehicular a$$ault, and two counts of child neglect. According to an arrest affidavit, Klinedinst was traveling along Stuart Street around 8:30 p.m. when she reached a d*ad end. Investigators allege she continued down a dirt path before driving over Coffey’s Cliff, causing the vehicle to plunge approximately 20 to 25 feet. The car landed upside down near railroad tracks, with both children still secured in their safety seats. One child reportedly suffered a fractured forearm and pulmonary contusions, which are bruises to the lungs. Authorities also discovered an empty wine bottle inside the vehicle and an unopened bottle in the passenger compartment. Investigators reported that Klinedinst displayed signs of intoxication following the crash, including slurred speech and the smell of alcohol. She also allegedly became combative with emergency medical personnel. The arrest affidavit states, “Klinedinst’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was extremely impaired and was a major contributing factor in the crash.” Klinedinst was ultimately taken into custody more than a month after the incident. The reported allegations have resulted in criminal charges, but her guilt has not been established in court. Thank goodness the children were okay🙏🏾$
