'Shall we look at Barbra in the garden?' asks @richard.e.grant referring to - who else? - La Streisand. That he is asking me this while sitting in what he explains is 'half of a gondola that once used to belong to the Maharishi' compounds the feeling that this is all a rather intense fever dream. From the outside, Richard's house in Richmond does not look especially magical. A brick wall maintains his privacy from the passengers on passing buses and an easy-to-miss small black gate is the only entry. But as this shuts behind me, I am Alice looking round Wonderland. Follow the link in our profile to watch this special episode of Design Notes in full, touring Richard's house at its Christmas best. 1. Pick one task a day and deliberately do the lowest-effort version of it, you'd be surprised how often that's enough. 2. Say no by default to anything optional for the next months. 3. Go through tomorrow’s meetings or projects at the end of each day and decline the ones you’re not actually needed in. Ask for notes/recordings instead. 4. Every morning decide what you’ll drop if the day goes badly, and then actually drop it. 5. At the end of the day, write down the one thing that went okay, when you’re burnt out you sometimes can’t remember them. 6. Every day, finish one thing completely, even a tiny one, so you’re not leaving a trail of half-done stuff. Bonus: Tell a friend or trusted colleague how you’re actually doing once a week. I made an app called Keel for exactly this. You rate your workday and tick off the habits you got through that day. It helps you do the things you know you should and after a few weeks you can see which habits have the biggest impact on your work life. Comment KEEL and I’ll send you the link to try the app 🩷 it’s also in my bio.

Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point confirmed the strike, referencing earlier Ukrainian drone attacks against facilities belonging to Russian technology company Yandex. Fire Point did not specify which weapons were used in the operation or provide details about the extent of the damage.
