$I’d been told that the World Championships were an emotional rollercoaster, but I didn’t quite imagine it would be like this!❤️‍🩹 @isasurfing @surfcity Yesterday, my competition came to an abrupt end. Unfortunately, I hit my head on my board during my last free surf wave. The jet skis and the competition’s rescue team came straight to my aid. The diagnosis: broken nose, fractures to both eye sockets and 3 stitches. This is a huge blow for me, but also for my team. I was feeling so good in this competition, with my surfing, my mindset and the energy within the team. The decision to withdraw was painful, but hearing the diagnosis was even harder. I came very close to an eye injury that could have had much more serious consequences… These past few years, life hasn’t always been kind to me. So now, I’m going to try to be kind myself — to myself, to my sport, and to the people I love. 🤍 Because of the swelling, I can’t have surgery straight away. I’ve therefore decided to stay here with my team and have the surgery back home in France, where I can recover peacefully surrounded by my loved ones. For now, I’m taking a step back, enjoying being here with all my body parts still intact haha, and supporting Team France, who are going to go far! 🇫🇷 I’m looking forward to starting my recovery, doing things properly and taking the time I need. I’ll be back with even more motivation, a higher level and a stronger mindset. I’m hungry for competitive surfing, and I’ll do everything I can to come back stronger. 🤍 A huge thank you to this incredible team for the atmosphere, the advice, the push and all the support throughout this tough time! 🫶🏼 @louis_marchiset @edouarddelpero @lemoignealice #tunnel #tasjamaisvuuntunnelcommeca #chagpttradlol$
