Can we just all agree to assume you’re always being watched and/or listened to during a showing? And yes, that does include open houses too 🫠

Whether you’re commenting on how ugly the seller’s decor is or talking freely about your own financial ability, you’re doing yourself no favors as a buyer. Frankly it puts us all in a very awkward situation most the time.

Minnesota is a “one-party consent” state which means at least one person taking part of the conversation has to give consent to record it. Technically homeowners should not hit record because they don’t count as a party involved in the conversation. However, some sellers keep their security features on regardless of what we tell them to keep a watchful eye on their home. When we are aware, we disclose this to all buyer agents but a lot of them fail to advise their clients properly. In general, it’s best to play it safe so zip it! (Respectfully)

Be honest, would you ever eavesdrop on buyers touring your home? Comment below 👇🏻

It's so true! It’s wild to think about how those recordings can catch things we wouldn’t normally say out loud. Being mindful during showings is definitely the way to go. Thanks for the reminder!

They turned off my router and my cameras were suddenly offline and now I can’t watch my property, turned the AC way down, left lights and fans on and a window at the front of the house unlocked and a door wide open so that anyone can see it’s a vacant house. Four days before closing. Why are final walkthroughs done 4 days before closing??

We had some one severely low ball us on an offer ($50k less than list). I countered by raising the price by $25k. Our agent was like ‘no really what do you want me to tell them?’. I explained tell them our new price and that they would have to drag my cold dead body out of the house before I sold it at their insulting offer. We sold it 3 weeks lasted for about $15k over asking NOT to that family! 💁🏼‍♀️. We were just looking to possibly move to a more rural area, we did NOT have to sell and were certainly NOT desperate for their chump change!
