THE WRITER’S ROOM: A Town Hall on Dance + Performance Writing presented by @prjchicago, @sixtyinchesfromcenter, and @the.process.podcast is this Saturday!
Join us on Nov 4, 2023, 3pm - 5pm CST at @blancgallerychicago (4445 S. MLK Drive, Chicago). The town hall will also be streamed virtually.
Join Chicago artists, performers, writers including special guests Benji Hart, Tara Aisha Willis, Ph.D., Maggie Bridger, and Gervais Marsh to discuss and dream the future of arts writing.
After the discussion, Alyssa Gregory of The Process podcast will invite participants to share their thoughts on dance writing and how it connects to the creative process and work of event attendees. Some portions of the interviews will be used for a future episode of The Process.
@mccoypatric’s AT FIRST GLANCE will serve as the backdrop for the discussion. Curated by Viktor L. Ewing-Givens (@southernandroid00) this exhibition pulls from both McCoy’s personal art collection as well as his personal photography, which captures essence of Black Chicago in the 1980s through his lens as he biked throughout the city.
This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP for in-person and virtual attendance is required – link in bio.
For those joining us in-person, masks will be required. Live captioning will be provided both in-person and online. You can read a breakdown of all of the event’s accessibility details at the link.
See you Saturday!
