Often on bookstagram there are books that I feel almost pressured to read. Some because I have a bad case of reading FOMO (the WORST case) and others because it's the book that appears on every third post. This fall, Grim Tidings has been IT. So is this book really IT?

IMHO, 100% yes.

I really enjoyed B.K Borison's GOOD SPIRITS last year, but GRIM TIDINGS stole my soul (IYKYK). Devastatingly, heart-achingly beautiful, with tension and desire so palpable it jumped off the page. It's also got a super interesting paranormal premise written with such nuance, complexity and carefulness.

I already knew I liked enemies to lovers, he falls first, and forced proxmity BUT 'the sad girl reaper meets overprotective guy guardian angel' is a micro trope I'm just going to need more of, please and thank you.

So if you've been eyeing this book or debating whether or not to read it, do yourself a favour and pick it up. You may want to grab a few tissues while you're at it. A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me.

Jason Lee announced he was stepping down as Stockton, California’s vice mayor Tuesday, but the City Council rejected a motion to accept his resignation and voted 4–2 to remove him instead.

The decision followed months of disagreements with Mayor Christina Fugazi and other city officials. Lee questioned whether the council had the legal authority to end his term early.

He remains the elected councilmember representing District 6.

He survived cancer twice and escaped a car fire just weeks before his life was tragically cut short 💔🕊️

Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, a 42-year-old Atlanta educator, passed on October 12 after being ejected from the ‘Goliath’ roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, according to police. His family says he had overcome two battles with cancer and recently survived a car fire alongside his daughter. A family friend also shared that he had endured a serious battle with COVID-19.

Kariem spent more than 12 years at Wesley International Academy, where he served as an IT manager after previously working as a technology teacher and robotics coach. His school remembered him as a beloved colleague and friend whose impact reached students and staff alike.

Cobb County police are investigating what happened, and Six Flags has temporarily closed similar attractions as a precaution.

Our hearts are with his family, loved ones, students, and everyone affected by this tragedy.

Rest in peace, Hassan 🕊️
