An Invitation Productions

4 years ago today, I launched “An Invitation to THE INVITATION,” a scripted podcast that recreates the masterful suspense/drama/horror film THE INVITATION (2015) as an audio drama while simultaneously analyzing it scene-by-scene. Directed by Karyn Kusama (JENNIFER’S BODY) and written/produced by Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi (DESTROYER), it remains my all-time favorite movie.

This endorsement from its original architects, Hay & Manfredi—told to Craig Mazin (showrunner: CHERNOBYL, THE LAST OF US) and John August (screenwriter: BIG FISH) on their own brilliant podcast, “Scriptnotes”—remains one of the most stupefying results of the whole endeavor.

I don’t know how much podcasting I’ll be doing going forward but no matter what I’m incredibly proud of this series. Its spooky vibe (perfectly captured by composer John Penola) makes for great Autumnal/Halloween listening. Hope you check it out.

Thanks for your support over the years, everyone. 🍷
