Buck is back in town 😎

Dear Karachi winter, are you even coming? 😭

In September 1950, the US Navy sailed a ship past the Golden Gate Bridge and sprayed a cloud of bacteria over San Francisco. Nearly 800,000 people breathed in the bacteria. Nobody in the city was warned.

Two weeks later, 11 patients at a hospital in the city came down with an infection doctors had almost never seen. One of them was 75-year-old Edward Nevin, an Irish immigrant and father of seven, who died on November 1, 1950.

The Army called it a coincidence that Edward died, and denied its involvement with the bacteria, and kept testing. Over 20 years, it ran 239 secret tests on American cities, airports and even the New York subway.

Edward’s family didn’t find out until 1976. They then sued the government, and they lost.

Would you have wanted to know if a test like this was done?
