Mayor Zohran Mamdani and City Council Speaker Julie Menin have struck a deal to ban horse-drawn carriages citywide following the death of an 18-year-old tourist who was thrown from a carriage in Central Park. "The horse carriage industry is coming to an end in New York City," Mamdani wrote on X, pledging to protect workers, owners and horses. The proposed ban, named Romanch's Law after the teenager, would take effect in June 2028 if approved, with a City Council vote expected Oct. 22. The teen's family says an earlier ban could have prevented his death, while critics argue the legislation threatens workers' livelihoods and one of Central Park's most recognizable attractions.

Sometimes dinner just says “Brunch please.”… There is no other dish more iconic as “Brunch” than Eggs Benedict. From the ground up, this plate begins with a Freshly Baked Croissant, halved lengthwise and toasted. The meat component is some Homemade Corned Beef I found in the freezer. Jammy Poached Eggs Tucked in and were baptized in a lush Cheese Sauce. Roasted Broccoli with a squirt of Lemon punctuated the rich main. Truly the formula for bringing weekend elegance to a Monday night. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #eggsbenedict #cheesy #benedict #breakfastfordinner #deliciousness
Nobody tells you how loud a gym floor can feel when you are the only one sitting down. Dustin Henderson is in a bow tie, surrounded by couples, watching the confetti settle around him. Then someone walks across the room. In this Snow Ball scene from Stranger Things Season 2 (2017), the camera stays on small details: a tentative glance, a nervous breath, a smile that arrives a second late. It is a relatable moment about wanting to be chosen without ever saying so. What makes it land is how patient the visual storytelling is. Gaten Matarazzo and Natalia Dyer play Dustin and Nancy with very little dialogue, so the warmth comes through in close-ups and a slow, careful dance. It works as a quiet character study for a series that is usually busy with bigger threats. Part of the final stretch of Season 2, this is a must-see for anyone who loves the softer side of Stranger Things. Save this post or send it to the friend who still remembers their own school dance.
