I look forward to Set the Table for @designmattersnc all year and spent a few wonderful days celebrating good design, setting a table to celebrate fall, listening to the fabulous speakers, @janescotthodges @christopherspitzmiller and @lauradowlingtheflorist, to name a few, meeting new friends and visiting with old ones, all while raising funds for the important work of @fitch_pediatric_rehab 🤎 I want to thank @westonfarms for creating a beautiful magnolia centerpiece for my table and @elizabeth_sheats_art for donating one of her stunning paintings for the art show. The biggest thanks to my partner in crime and friend @margaretsifly for all of your help setting up, taking down, general schlepping, being a fabulous friend and the most fun date!😘 🤎 I'd also like to share the sources I used to create this autumnal table for the Set the Table event... Tablecloth- made with fabric from @spoonflower Dinner Plates- @provvista Salad Plates- Woodland Spode (borrowed from my mom) Napkins- @julianmejiadesign Pear Cookies- @b.sweetsdessertboutique Beautiful calligraphy- @myrakjester and @welladdressedcalligraphy Green highballs- @eutopia.design Bamboo table lamps- @mrsalice Vases- @theenchantedhome Everything is from my own collection or borrowed, just the way a collected table should be. 🤎
Morning self affirmation patterns activate the brain’s reward circuitry in ways that persist for several hours afterward. A 2017 University of Pennsylvania study tracked 411 adults over two weeks and found that participants who voiced one positive self statement each morning showed a 12 percent increase in task initiation speed compared with those who remained silent. The same group also reported fewer afternoon mood dips on days they maintained the routine. Self concept clarity research further shows that people who regularly articulate their own strengths develop more stable identity ratings across repeated measures, which predicts better decision consistency in goal directed behavior. Longitudinal data from a 2020 Journal of Personality and Social Psychology paper indicate that individuals scoring high on self concept clarity experience 19 percent lower rates of goal abandonment over six month follow ups. Attachment theory adds that secure internal working models can be strengthened through repeated self reassurance, reducing reliance on external validation. Save this for the next time you need a reset. #selfaffirmation #morningroutine #mentalhealthhacks #healingjourney #successmindset
