Travelling to the other side of the world with Dice 🐾✈️🌍

Over 200kg of luggage, board bags, kitegear, a dog and everything we need for four months in Cape Town. Travelling light? Never heard of it 😂

If you think travelling to South Africa with a dog is easy, let me tell you, it’s a NIGHTMARE 😅 Every year I spend months sorting out all the paperwork, permits, blood tests and veterinary checks. But after all the packing, planning and travelling, seeing that happy face running around on the beach in Cape Town makes every bit of effort worth it 🥹❤️

A few things about flying with Dice. Dice is a certified medical service dog, which is why she’s allowed to fly in the cabin with me. During the 11-hour flight, she basically sleeps the entire time, usually on the floor between my legs. I always offer her food and water several times, but she never wants any. Sometimes she takes a little bit of water from my hand, but that’s about it. And somehow she holds her pee the entire flight! I always have a special mat in case she needs to go, but in all these years she’s never used it. Once we land, the first thing I do is take her for a walk.

Oh and OO-MY-GOD, imagine doing all of this with two kids one day... I already feel like a travelling circus, so I have no idea how Giel and I are going to manage that. But stick around for a few more years and I guess we’ll find out 😂

Ya Allah, grant me the very best in every aspect of my life. 🤍

Choose for me the best paths, the most sincere friendships, the purest intentions, the most beautiful opportunities, and a life filled with Your mercy and barakah.

Ya Rabb, You know what my heart quietly wishes for, the dreams I am afraid to speak about, and the things I cannot even put into words.

Give me what is good for my dunya and my akhirah. Surround me with people who genuinely love me, guide me towards opportunities that bring me closer to You, and protect me from everything that may harm my heart or my faith.

If something isn’t meant for me, remove it gently. If something better is written for me, bring it closer. And if I must wait, grant me the patience to trust Your timing.

Ya Allah, don’t give me simply what I want; give me what my heart needs, what is best for my soul, and what will bring me closer to You.

Make my future beautiful, my heart content, my friendships sincere, my rizq abundant, my health blessed, and my akhirah even more beautiful than my dunya.

You know what is hidden in my heart, Ya Allah. I trust You to choose what I cannot choose for myself.

Ameen Ya Rabb. 🤲🏻🤍
