The more we share our stories, the more we can heal. We remind each other that we are not alone. Thank you to this strong couple for sharing their story and thank you
@femilazarus1 for using your platform in this way. We appreciate it!
Also, we can do better as a society to help bereaved families. No family should be given their dead baby in a nylon bag. This adds to the trauma. There are better ways to do things. Respecting people is important!
We have such a long way to go in certain parts of the world while charities like
@sandscharity @tommys are doing great work in the UK, in other parts of the world especially African counties, families don’t get support.
It is time to think about building a structure in place that can change the way bereaved families are treated and supported after a loss. This story was heart reaching, not only dealing with the trauma of losing your baby, but also the disrespectful way the hospital handled the situation.
Praying that things get better and families find healing and support through this pain.
