What a fun day! I had the pleasure of attending a beautiful Panameño Folkrico Dance performance yesterday for Hispanic Heritage Month, so beautiful from the clothes, to the music, and I love the tradition and being able to embrace my heritage, thank you so much for having me, I had an amazing time at this event and I look forward to the next time ☺️🙏🏽 ¡Viva Panamá!🇵🇦❤️

Halloween often presents darkness, death, fear, demons, ghosts, witchcraft, and images of death and horror as entertainment, but the Christian life moves in the opposite direction: from darkness to light, from death to life, from fear to hope in Christ. Scripture says, “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8), and Christ Himself says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). In the Orthodox Church, the Sunday of All Saints is celebrated on the first Sunday after Pentecost, showing that the saints are the fruit of the Holy Spirit poured out upon the Church. In the West, however, the feast of All Saints gradually came to be celebrated on November 1, especially from the 8th–9th centuries, and October 31 became its eve — “All Hallows’ Eve,” later called Halloween. Saint John Chrysostom repeatedly warned Christians not to imitate pagan or superstitious customs simply because society accepts them, but to let every part of life be shaped by Christ. Saint Paul likewise asks, “What fellowship has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14). For an Orthodox Christian, the goal is not to glorify fear, occult imagery, death, or demonic themes, even “for fun,” but to celebrate Christ’s victory over death, the holiness of His saints, and the light of eternal life.
