Three of the biggest data centres in Russia were taken offline this weekend - dramatically changing the social media landscape. According to tech experts monitoring the situation, the strikes have successfully taken online services down, leaving large swathes of Russian citizens unable to use banking apps, complete transactions, or even book a taxi online. However, there’s another interesting by-product from this coordinated action. As per the bot analysts at Tom’s Hardware, bot traffic from the Yandex network has dropped to just 0.4% of the maximum number of HTTP requests recorded in the past two weeks. That means activity from automated, Russian-hosted accounts has been virtually eliminated on social media. There has already been a strong and significant impact on bot traffic in countries such as France and Germany, and it will be interesting to see what impact there is in the US ahead of the November mid-terms. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has hailed the tactical strikes, stating that they have resulted in ‘less hate and division’ being stoked online. It’s unclear as to when Yandex will get up and running to full capacity again – and the timing is certainly problematic for Moscow and its sympathisers.
What if you could leave behind the chaos of city life and receive nearly $90,000 to help build a new life on a beautiful island in Ireland? 🇮🇪🌊 Through its Our Living Islands initiative, Ireland is working to revive some of its remote offshore communities by encouraging people to restore abandoned and deteriorating homes. Under the scheme, eligible applicants can receive grants of up to €84,000 (roughly $90,000–$100,000, depending on exchange rates) to renovate derelict properties on qualifying islands. Imagine starting your mornings with breathtaking ocean views, lush green landscapes, charming coastal villages, and the kind of peace that's becoming increasingly difficult to find in busy cities. 🌿 However, there's an important detail to remember. Ireland isn't paying people simply to relocate. The financial assistance is specifically intended for property renovations, and applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria, including requirements related to property ownership and how the renovated home will be used. The initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen island communities, bring vacant properties back into use, and encourage long-term sustainable living in these scenic locations. For those who have always dreamed of a quieter lifestyle surrounded by nature, this could be an interesting opportunity to explore. Would you leave the city behind for a peaceful life on an Irish island? 🏡💚 #Ireland #OurLivingIslands #IslandLife #DreamHome #sarcasm
imagine living a thousand lifetimes and *still* losing your mind over the tone of someone’s text message. a new one for my premium members today. this whole thought experiment came to me while I was thinking about how much time we spend studying ourselves & having all these profound realizations… and then just going riiiiiiight back to doing the same shit we’ve always done. we’re getting into reincarnation, Plato, karma, the Christian concept of grace. Ultimately this one’s about the deeply humbling possibility that having a lot of spiritual knowledge doesn’t necessarily make us any wiser. it’s time to learn to take ourselves a lot less seriously while at the same time being a lot more conscious of how we treat others. main character syndrome is tired, y’all. the episode is available now for Votive House + Angel members. a whole 31 minutes of me thinking out loud about something I very much need to practice myself. you can listen through p@treon or your connected sp0tify feed. link in bio.
