The Belleville Three member has died 🕊️ A spokesperson for Greensmith Artists, the agency that represents the legendary Detroit producer, confirmed to RA that he was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Mexico City this morning, and later pronounced dead after being taken to hospital. Born in Detroit in 1962, Atkins grew up in the nearby town of Belleville, where he met future collaborators Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. His music became closely associated with the futuristic, machine-driven aesthetic that would shape the genre's development throughout the late '80s and '90s.
