16:33 5K PB 🚨

Today, I raced the TCS Toronto Waterfront 5K, one of my favourite races of the year, and finished third overall 🥉 in a new personal best of 16:33. The race also served as the @athleticsont Provincial 5K Road Championships, where I earned the 🥈. Big congratulations to @courtneyhufsmith on winning the race for the fourth year in a row!

One of my biggest goals for the road season was to break the U18 Canadian National Record of 16:31. I came just a couple of seconds short today, but the good news is that I still have a few more years to chase it. I’m really happy with the consistency I’ve shown across my three road 5Ks this season: 16:39, 16:46, and now 16:33.

One of the things I love most about this race weekend is the Race Expo! It’s always so much fun seeing familiar faces, catching up with people I haven’t seen in a while, and being surrounded by so many people who share the same love for running. 🫶🏼

Thank you to the team at @runcrs for putting on an amazing event, to @asicscanada for always supporting me, and to my coaches Peter and Ahj for always believing in me.

Overall, I’m really happy with my road racing season and the progress I’ve made. Now it’s time to get back to the grass and trails to finish off my XC season. 🤙🏼
