This thing, Current Wave, started out with a phone call to a friend in January 2022 - I was talking about @inner__tide and saying that I wanted to be a guest on a few podcasts. I was walking in Zilker Park in Austin with my dog, it was late afternoon, sunny, a little windy and a little chilly. My friend Hannah said, wait, why dont you just do a podcast. At first I was like, no, I dont want a podcast, why would a do a podcast?? And that somehow very quickly turned into, wow, I really want to do a podcast. I’m going to do a podcast.
Current Wave has already had many iterations and configurations behind the scenes. She’s dyaminc and contains multitudes. In many ways she’s a personal exercise for my throat chakra. She’s also a natural impulse for me, as someone who has my Sun & Venus in Gemini, conjunct Mercury in Taurus - Venus and Mercury are not only conjunct within 1 degree, they also have a mutual reception which is sweet and harmonious. These buddies are all hanging out in the 11th house so I get to be my gemini self and speak with a lot of different people from all the groups and networks I feel so lucky to be tapped into.
Our subtitle is “shared delusions and etherial shit talking” - because with all this mercurial energy, I love talking smack in the best of ways. Not gossip the way you think of it in high school sitcoms, BIG gossip, GOOD gossip, gossip about history, ideas, art, money, cities, perceived healthy foods (kale 🥴), random events, astrology, time, our conceptions of the self.
You get the picture. We hope to go deep AND broad. With a lot of twists along the way.
