We are thrilled to introduce you to one of Carmel Dance Festival’s incredible Choreography Fellowship Finalists.
✨Please meet Mia J. Chong! ✨

Mia J. Chong is the Founding Artistic Director of EIGHT/MOVES, a San Francisco-based dance company. Mia received a Princess Grace Award, Chris Hellman Dance Honor, Aninstantia Grant, Jacob’s Pillow Hicks Choreography Fellowship, and more. Her choreography has been presented by Post:ballet, RAWdance, FACT/SF, NYU Tisch, UC Berkeley, and others. Mia primarily danced with ODC/Dance, where she performed for six seasons, and is currently Staging Director. She earned a BA in Social Sciences with an Organizational Behavior and Change concentration from New York University and an MS in Arts Administration and Cultural Entrepreneurship from Northeastern University.
