Trevor Weston

My compositions of late have become learning experiences about African American and African Caribbean history. Tomorrow’s premiere, Bajan Coromantees uses a word common in the 17th century to refer to Africans from the Gold Coast. Alson, Barbadians call themselves Bajans. The 1675 unsuccessful uprising in Barbados would have been as significant as Haiti over 100 years later. Posted are excerpts about that history. Tomorrow, 7 PM Harlem Chamber Players @harlemchamberplayers at the Harlem School for the Arts, Free!
