October baseball is my new favorite hobby. So far my biggest lesson learned: there is never enough cowbell. Also shoutout to @victormesajr10 for the heads up play in slide 6 😂
In 1992, Dr. Dre helped bring G-funk to the mainstream with “Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang,” the lead single from his debut solo album, The Chronic. Produced by Dre and featuring Snoop Doggy Dogg, the track built its smooth West Coast sound around Leon Haywood’s 1975 funk record “I Want’a Do Something Freaky to You,” with additional vocal and musical samples woven into the beat. Released in late 1992, it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1993 and topped both Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts. It earned Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 1994 Grammy Awards, while helping launch Snoop’s solo career and cement The Chronic as a landmark of West Coast hip-hop. #drdre #snoopdogg #90s #hiphop #desperadostyle
