Tino

I think there is no greater achievement in life than having answered the call. What I mean by that is: we are given the opportunity to be who we were made to be, in the fullness of that unique expression, and we must answer. In the end, did we answer that call? Did we play the note we were meant to play in the orchestra? Or did we quiet our music from fear, from doubt, from cowardice and compliance?

And I believe there are some people who are way-teachers. They are so completely themself, so powerful from the jump, that they are more a musical instrument than one who plays. This can be a difficult call. You cannot hide. You may face the loneliness of excellence. But if you persevere, you become a way-maker. You are the music we all aspire to make.

Tino was the most beautiful music I have ever heard. To dance beside him was to feel free for the first time. To hear his encouragement was to heal a thousand mother wounds. To call him a friend was the privilege of heaven.

I am crying as I write this. Moved by the power of a life lived in its calling. How a sister could unlock all the songs in every bird she passed.

But you cannot hold on to music. You cannot grab it and steal it away. It flows in and through you, and from it, you find yourself dancing.

Thank you for the music Tino. I will listen for you in every song until I join you in the orchestra of heaven.

I’m SUCH a massive fan of this franchise, so the opportunity to recreate something like this was so special. A huge thank you to the entire team that helped me get ready, and especially @mollyddickson who’s been helping me bring all my fangirl dreams to life for this press tour for months now hahah. I wanted to pay homage to Katniss, and this dress is so iconic, although the meaning of the look is not lost on me

What makes Katniss’s wedding dress so powerful to me is that it begins as a costume meant to turn her into a spectacle but she and Cinna turn it into something so powerful. It made me think of Maysilee’s refusal to let the Capitol strip away her humanity, “If you let them treat you like an animal, they will”. One of the things I love most about the hunger games is the characters determination to hold onto who they are even when others are trying to define them. It’s truly incredible just how much deep meaning and storytelling is told through these costumes alone, it was such an incredible night getting to celebrate the wardrobe of these films. I’m still pinching myself🥹
