MOTHER & DAUGHTER TAKE PARIS! 🇫🇷 New day, new looks! Because we girls love to switch things up! Rachelle and I even share clothes and shoes. Same size, different styles! But we do have our fashion boundaries. You won’t catch me in a mini skirt, and Rachelle isn’t exactly a fan of oversized looks. Still, that’s what makes fashion so much fun! We inspire each other, mix things up and bring our own personality to every outfit. Two generations, two styles, endless inspiration! Do you share clothes with your mother or daughter? Tell me in the comments! #fashionlove #paris #citylove #lookoftheday #motherdaughter

I can’t be the only one noticing this. And I know I’m not imagining it. It’s something I’ve been watching and documenting for quite some time. Particularly here in Australia, where I feel like the fashion industry is going backwards when it comes to representation. Who we’re seeing in campaigns, who brands are speaking to and what aspiration in fashion is supposed to look like 🙄 And one group I keep coming back to is women over 40. (i’ll come back to women of colour another day) Here’s what I don’t understand. Women in this age group have significant spending power. We love clothes, we’re interested in fashion and we continue to experimenting with our personal style through all the seasons of our life. Yet there’s such a disconnect between who’s spending the money and who’s being marketed to. And given the current economic climate, you’d think brands would be doing everything they could to connect with these women? (And yes, some brands are doing this really well. But looking at the industry as a whole, I think we’re still a long way off.) I see this firsthand as a personal stylist. My largest client demographic is women aged 35–55. Many of my clients spend upwards of $10,000 in one shop, yet they’re rarely reflected in the campaigns they’re shopping from. And working as a content creator, I see another side of it too. There are so many incredible women creating fashion content across different ages, backgrounds and personal styles. I’d love to see more of them represented in brand campaigns, events etc. This isn’t about taking opportunities away from younger women. There’s room for everyone. But surely we can have a broader representation of what women who love fashion actually look like? @bianca.oneill recently wrote a really interesting piece for @fashionjournalmagazine discussing this very topic. I’ll link it over on my Stories. And with @melbfashionweek coming up next week, my friend and fellow stylist @styledbysally will be part of a panel exploring the visibility of women over 50 in fashion. Love seeing these conversations happening. Anyway, a lot to digest. Would love to hear your thoughts? 👇 🕶️@designereyes #personalstylist #dissh
