Paris, October 17th

I went out with my camera to witness what was happening in the streets. Protesters, police, tear gas, and a city that quickly turned tense.

As a filmmaker, I felt it was important to be there, to capture the moment as it was, and let the images speak for themselves.

The subjectivity of spice levels is what makes me most loyal to my favorite Thai restaurants. It takes a minute to figure out where they are on the spice spectrum and once you’ve found a place that is both delicious AND you’ve navigated the spice rankings/can trust that they’re consistent in those rankings… you’ve got ME as a loyal customer XOXO (Team khao soi… what’s your order?)

Quick little LA trip ✈️💕

Use code JESSI for @calai.app ✨

11 weeks ago I got a call from @d.angelopeak telling me he’s running the Chicago Marathon and he asked me if I wanted to run it too. I just said “sure,” and locked in ever since.

I’ve never considered myself a “runner” before this but I fully threw myself into a marathon training plan on the Nike Run Club app with only 11 weeks to go. My only training was through this app and with the guided runs by @coachbennett which is why I was so geeked to meet him at the start line 🥲

I didn’t have a bib but I had zero doubt it would come if I trained anyway. 5 weeks into training with pure faith, I secured a bib. This whole thing kinda started out as a “do it for the plot” type thing but along the way it turned into a real exercise of faith… of trusting myself and trusting the universe. Running was a way to meet a higher version of myself. I met her over and over again.

No chafing, no bathroom breaks, no toenails lost, no cramps, and no injuries. I hit all my marathon bucket list goals and hit my secret goal which was to finish under 4:30.

Trying is so fucking cool. We all try. Try and try again. And as my mom would say, “Endure.”

And lastly, thank you to all my friends and your support. I have the greatest friends in the world. I cannot stress this enough, I am absolutely NOTHING without you. 🫂 Til next time!

#GervontaDavis is vibing today! #Socialites are we feeling the moves? 👀👇🏽
