25 years ago, on this date, I was born. The ‘Blessed’ baby. #quarterlifecrisis Goo goo gaa ga. I laugh a lot, don’t I? I’ve been privileged in immeasurable ways. Here’s to a life of service. See you at 50!🤪
Trigger warning: pet loss. My grief is heavy and it hurts this year so if you are carrying too much protect yourself and scroll on. I held you in my arms for the last time a year ago today. I laid down with you under a beautiful blue sky and pulled you into my arms and clung to you desperate for the last few seconds together. I whispered all my favorite stories of our time together in your ear and I loved you so much that I let you go. Everyone tells me that it gets easier as time passes but it really doesn’t. I wait for you in the silence of the aftermath of the doorbell, I still listen for the click of your claws during your restless roaming at midnight. I walk to the mailbox and I will forever be Orpheus turning to look for you every single day. The grief is like the memory of fireflies on summer nights mocking me in the bleak midwinter where everything is barren and only shadows twist on the walls. We had a beautiful life together. You gave me 13 years of utter joy. I miss you every moment of the day and I love you forever.
