NICKI, YOUR POLITICAL CHOICES ARE OPEN TO CRITICISM. 👀

Nicki Minaj publicly supported Trump and encouraged her fans to vote. That makes her political advocacy fair game for discussion. Being a talented artist doesn’t make someone’s politics beyond questioning, and enjoying somebody’s music does not mean handing them your political judgment.

I’m looking at what these policies mean for people’s health care, civil rights, families and ability to afford their lives. That matters more to me than celebrity loyalty. You can love an album and disagree with the person who made it. You can also decide their public advocacy changes what you’re willing to support. We owe ourselves informed choices, and no fan base should require us to abandon our values. ✊🏾
