Vladimir Kush is a Russian-born American artist known for his surreal paintings and his distinctive style, which he calls Metaphorical Realism. Born in Moscow in 1965, he began drawing at an early age and studied at the Moscow Art Institute before moving to Los Angeles in 1990 to pursue his career. @kushfineart

His paintings transform everyday objects, animals, and natural landscapes into unexpected visual compositions. Ships become butterflies, candles take on new forms, and familiar elements merge into dreamlike scenes filled with symbolism.

His work explores themes such as nature, love, time, and the human experience through visual metaphors.
In 2001, Kush and his father founded Kush Fine Art, establishing galleries to showcase his work. He gained international recognition for his imaginative compositions and received first prize in painting at the 2012 Artistes du Monde exhibition in Cannes, France.

What makes a good photograph?
Emotion and a good story … written with light and shadows.

I went back to the West LA shelter with @joannakrupa to meet more dogs and learn about the challenges rescues and volunteers face in getting dogs fostered and adopted.

On the way in, I met this beautiful dog, Gabriel. @Real Good Rescue stepped up with a foster to get him out of the shelter, but he still needs a forever home and help with his medical (check @realgoodrescue page).

These amazing rescuers taught me about the gift of fostering and just how important it is, especially with so many dogs in California’s overcrowded shelters.

By fostering, you can give a dog a safe, loving place to heal while they wait to be adopted. You’re also helping rescues make room to save more dogs.

You may not be able to commit to adoption, but opening your home temporarily can give a wonderful dog another chance at life.

Please consider fostering or adopting. Visit my website (link in bio) and click ‘Clear The Shelters’ to learn how you can help.
