Very very sad to hear my friend, Bob, has passed. I didn’t know Bob as the drummer for My Chemical Romance. I knew him as the hilarious, dog-loving loner that he was. We became buddies about 10 years ago through odd circumstances and we just clicked immediately. One of my favorite things about him is he had about 12 drum kits throughout his time with My Chemical Romance, and the man auctioned all of them off and gave 100% of the proceeds to the local animal shelter. A few years ago, he even had me come over to his house and he loaded my vehicle down with over 200 new drum heads, about 100 cymbals, and several road cases all easily worth over $25,000 and didn’t even bat an eye. He was selfless, extremely generous, and had the biggest heart for animals. His work with MCR was legendary, but the man behind that work is where the true legend lies. Rest easy, buddy.
