Birmingham noms!
1. Cala Coffee Cortado
2. I made a sammich! Ithaca hummus with cukes and spring mix. Then I can spend my money on fancy beverages…
3. Pizza Grace. Very tasty wood-fired pizza. James Beard nominated… congrats @pizzagracebham !
4. Fancy beverage from @thehouseoffoundobjects —my new favorite place. This was a bourbon drink called “Sex Panther” that came with a temporary tattoo. The atmosphere is fun and slightly chaotic and the drinks are next level! I hope to make it back someday…
5. And 6. @shushopbham RAMEN and MOCHI …absolutely hit the spot that day and the decor is gorgeous. Excellent cocktails , too!
7. @chicagoontour threw us a lovely opening night party. Some tasty bites and LOOK AT THIS CAKE 🤩
8. Thanks to our locals in the cast and band we had recommendations for places to eat… this plate of Southern goodness was from Johnny’s Restaurant in Homewood, AL. Fried green tomatoes. Parmesan gritcakes. Catfish. Cornbread. Sweet potatoes… omg. Thanks, @brent_mauldin and @drewfillinger !!
9. Another drink from The House of Found Objects. Called the “Justine Shroeder”. Fun-based and those are chili flakes across the top… This was a visit with the band and we played Cards Against Humanity… there are games at every table. Just a really fun place to hang!
10. My favorite coffee and pastry places… @junecoffeeco and @lastcallbaking
June Coffee serves pastries from the neighboring bakery… both were always full and selling out. The lattes were lovely (black sesame!!) from June, as was the cortado, and the pastries were out of this WORLD. In the picture is a frangipane danish. Other favorites… coffee scroll and a kimchi danish 😱🤯
