Pennsylvania Measles Cases Climb To 890 With 173 Hospitalizations And Four Reported Deaths

Blogged by: Grace L.

Pennsylvania’s measles outbreak is closing in on 900 confirmed cases as health officials expand vaccination efforts across communities hit hardest by the highly contagious virus.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the state had confirmed 890 measles cases across 39 counties as of September 25, including 55 new cases reported since September 23. State officials also reported 173 hospitalizations and four measles-associated deaths connected to the outbreak.

“While daily numbers fluctuate,” the department said, “tracking these trends provides Pennsylvanians and health care providers with visibility into community transmission across the Commonwealth and helps inform the department’s ongoing response.”

The Pennsylvania measles outbreak has accelerated significantly during September. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the state had 577 confirmed cases across 37 counties on September 4. By September 23, that figure had climbed to 835 cases across 39 counties, according to a separate state health update. Two days later, officials announced another 55 cases, pushing the total to 890.

Vaccination status remains a major factor in the outbreak. The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported that only four of the state’s 890 confirmed cases involved people who were appropriately vaccinated for their age, representing less than 1 percent of the total. In an earlier state update, health officials identified those four breakthrough infections as three adults and one child living in Centre, Jefferson, Lancaster and Lycoming counties.

The outbreak is unfolding as measles cases rise nationally. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 3,659 confirmed measles cases had been reported in the United States in 2026 as of September 24. The CDC said cases had been reported across 47 jurisdictions.

Every big success once had a small beginning.

These 6 pictures aren’t just about success — they’re proof of how far someone can come.

1. From standing at a train door to owning a supercar.
2. From a tiny room to seeing yourself on a massive billboard.
3. From working in a kitchen to appearing on television.
4. From an unfinished house to a collection of luxury cars.
5. From a modest home to driving a Mercedes.
6. From driving a truck to sitting in a luxury cabin.

Different lives. Different struggles. Different journeys.

But one thing was the same — they didn’t wait for “one day.” They started on “day one.”

Your beginning may be small, but your destination doesn’t have to be.

So, when will you start your Day One?

3 habits to rewire you brain 🧠⚡️LAST 1 = MOST IMPORTANT ‼️

1. Fitness 1st thing — movement creates momentum 🌊 walk, runs, mobility flows and workouts elevate your state of mind and body (making it the perfect primer to the day)

2. Mindfulness practice — in a world designed to take you out of the present moment.. take back control of your life through practicing PRESENCE (meditation, prayer, etc.) this is your superpower

3. Positive words and reframes — the words you speak shape the world you see 🌎 refuse to speak limitation over your life.. elevate your words/thoughts, elevate your LIFE
