I ain’t really one for long insta captions or writing out my feelings publicly but this one might get away from me a little.
Back when I was writing for AfterJam’s “Jam Journal” (circa. 2017) with Nate Wilde as my editor I always expressed two career (as it were) goals; to go to Kimbosession and to have my name in print. Honestly, at the time these ideas seemed just like pub talk - you know how I get after the pub - and something that was just fun to talk about between the editing, brainstorming and endless references.
But in 2024, both of those dreams came true in quick succession. In April I went to Sweden with @newschoolers to film Unrailistic (edit still pending) & Kimbosessions. And in October I was also asked to write about @arttuheikkine, friend and inspiration, his photos of the @forre4life crew and street skiing in Helsinki for the @powdermagazine 2025 Photo Annual - and my copies just showed up!
This feels like a clear example that progress isn’t linear and that no idea is too big. It’s kind of crazy to look back at all the journeys, articles and late night comp coverage that led to these dreams becoming a reality, and, cliche as it sounds, this feels like just the beginning. There’s many more words to write, videos to create and of course FIS judges to piss off - some exciting shit in the pipeline too.
But the point of all this is to say, to anyone who’s ever read/watched my stuff on skiing or supported me along the way, thank you! ❤️🔥
