TNHT Staff: @fashionswarrior _______ Neighbors, this is scary as hell. An 18-year-old Minnesota teenager accused of plotting a mass shooting at the Mall of America was arrested after allegedly telling an FBI informant he wanted to kill as many as 30 to 60 people. Federal authorities say Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud planned to carry out the attack on October 24, during a scheduled Hmong community arts celebration. The FBI had reportedly been monitoring him for nearly two years before agents sold him an AK-47 and ammunition in an undercover operation. _______ According to a criminal complaint obtained by Fox News, Mohamud initially wanted to travel to Somalia to join terrorist militants but allegedly changed his plans because he couldn’t afford the trip. Investigators say he repeatedly discussed targeting non-Muslims at the mall. When an informant questioned whether he was serious, Mohamud allegedly replied, “yes i am 100% sure,” adding, “I would have backed out by now if I wasn’t sure.” On Tuesday, he reportedly paid $600 to an undercover FBI employee posing as an ISIS member for an AK-47 and 200 rounds of ammunition before being arrested at a park. _______ Authorities say Mohamud came to their attention in December 2024, and agents even visited his family home in May 2025 over concerns about his radicalization. U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen described him as an American-born citizen of Somali descent and said investigators stopped the alleged plot before anyone was harmed. Rosen also urged parents to take federal warnings about potential radicalization seriously. Mohamud appeared in federal court Wednesday, where a public defender was appointed to represent him.
