I had no idea who I had stopped… but it turned out to be one of the most interesting discussions I have had in the last couple months.

Today I learnt that knowledge and wisdom are two very different things.

In summary: Knowledge is the information you can collect from others, wisdom is how you extrapolate and use that knowledge within the confines of the real world.

A pleasure to meet the legend, Douglas Davies.

fall break well spent!

English has a remarkable ability to capture ideas and experiences through a single word. Some expressions have existed for centuries, while others have entered the language more recently, reflecting how vocabulary continues to evolve.

Many uncommon words come from other languages, literature, and historical traditions. Their meanings often reveal fascinating connections between language, culture, and the way people interpret everyday life.

Learning less familiar vocabulary can strengthen reading comprehension, improve communication, and help us express complex thoughts with greater precision. Sometimes, discovering one new word can completely change how we describe something we’ve experienced for years.
