The Best Toothpick Dispenser I've wanted to try making a dispenser that releases one toothpick at a time when pressed. Many designs use springs, but this one uses magnetic repulsion instead. The hardest part was positioning the small piece that pushes the toothpicks upward. I wasn't sure exactly where it should go, so I tested how it worked and found the right position through trial and error before gluing it in place. One interesting discovery was that it dispenses toothpicks more consistently when there are a reasonable number of toothpicks inside rather than when it's nearly empty. The mechanism may look complicated at first, but the basic design is surprisingly simple. If you like the idea, give it a try!

• @asteria__archives “Lee Krasner (1908–1984) and Jackson Pollock (1912–1956) met in New York in 1942 and married in 1945. They lived and worked in Springs, Long Island, where Krasner supported Pollock’s career while developing her own painting. Their relationship was shaped by artistic exchange, Pollock’s struggles with alcoholism, and his affair with painter Ruth Kligman (1930–2010). In 1956, Pollock died at 44 in a car accident while driving under the influence of alcohol. Kligman survived the crash, while another passenger, Edith Metzger, was killed. Krasner, who was in Paris at the time, later began working in Pollock’s former studio, creating some of her most significant large-scale paintings.”

🚀🔥 Google just released Gemini 4 Argon, its most advanced AI model yet, taking on OpenAI, Anthropic and Meta. According to Google's own tests, Argon beats or matches its leading rivals on 14 of 19 benchmarks, with strong results in coding, finance, law, and cybersecurity. The model is built to handle complex tasks that require multiple steps, including writing software, analyzing large amounts of information, and finding security flaws. After initially limiting access to selected testers, Google is now rolling it out to paying Gemini users, businesses, and developers. The race for the most powerful AI model is heating up... once again. Another day, another new model drop. What are your thoughts? 🤔💬
