I’ve always considered Manhunter a much better film than Silence of the Lambs, not in the least because Brian Cox’s Lecter is a much more convincing character than the Hopkins version, who is basically a Batman villain. Just this scene alone is staged a hundred times better than most of the supposedly oscar worthy stuff in the other
