I used to think peace was something I’d arrive at later. When the next deal closed. After the next goal. After I’d proven enough, built enough, become enough. I was always running towards a version of life where I’d finally get to slow down. This Fall, standing barefoot on a cold dock with leaves turning around me, I realized something. The trees don’t wait until they’re finished to let go. They release right in the middle of the season, a little at a time, and they’re still beautiful while doing it. I’m done waiting. I stood on one leg and found my balance. I reached higher than felt comfortable. I knelt by the water and breathed. And somewhere between shakiness and laughter, I felt it. I wasn’t on my way to peace anymore. I’ve become it. Strong enough to hold my ground. Soft enough to let life move through me. Both at the same time. That’s the practice. I’m grateful for every season that got me here. Especially the hard ones. They taught me how to be still. If you’ve been waiting for permission to slow down, this is it. What are you ready to let go of this season? 👇🏼
Yes, I also have @Zara fails 🌸 Most of these pieces will go back - mainly as they don’t suit my personal style. But, the hessian sack - it’s growing on me.
Gramps Getaway on Virginia Key has become something of a campaign headquarters in a fight over the future of Rickenbacker Marina. Owner Adam Gersten is one of the leading voices in the opposition of a November referendum that would let a new group of developers lease and redevelop about 28 acres of city-owned land, including two marinas, under a deal that would last at least 45 years. At the heart of the dispute: whether the deal is a good use of public land — and who benefits from it. The developers, Suntex Marinas and RCI Marine Group, promise to invest $80 million in marina upgrades, improve public access and add waterfront restaurants and retail. Gersten and other opponents argue the deal, which is from 2017, is outdated and would give the developers a long-term lease on valuable public waterfront under terms they consider unfavorable to the city. They also question whether Gramps could survive the redevelopment, even though the developers say the bar could stay. 🔗 You can read the full story at the link in our bio ✍️: Ana Claudia Chacin 📸: Al Diaz
